Come shaped piles of basaltic lapilli and blocks. Usually form from ONE single eruption.

A
Broad, gentle domes, resembles a soldiers shield lying on the ground. Form when products of an eruption have low viscosity so they are week and cannot pile up around the vent

Composite
A
Large and cone shaped generally with steeper slopes near the summit. Consist of interleaved layer of lava, tephra, and volcanic debris.
