ex. the humerus resets into the glenoid cavity

connects flat or slightly curved bone surfaces that glide against one another
ex. between tarsals
ex. amoung carpals

convex portion connects with concave portion of another
movement in 1 plane
ex. between ulna and humerus (elbow)

found at the thumb (carpo-metacarpal articulation of thumb)
movement in 2 planes

second metacarpal and first phalanx of second finger
movement in 2 planes

rounded point of a bone fits into a groove of another

ex. neck (first two vertebrae)
