Explain what a Song of Ascent is.
Songs of Ascent were sung by worshippers traveling to Jerusalem. Since Jerusalem was on a mountain and they had to go uphill, that is where the name Songs of Ascent comes from. These psalms have references to worshipping in Jerusalem.

What is synonymous parallelism?
When one or more lines express a similar idea.
What is antithetic parallelism?
When the second line states the opposite idea of the first line.
What is climactic parallelism?
When the second line repeats the first part of the first line and then adds to it.
