Melanin absorbs light in the 4-500nm range. What type of laser would be ideal to use? What colour would it be
488 Argon-ion laser
It would be a bluish-green color
Phthalocyanine absorbs strongly in the 700nm area. What laser would be ideal to use? You do not want blood or melanin to absorb this laser (they absorb in the 4-500 region)
This laser would be used in PDT treatment.
You would wan to use a He-Ne laser. Theyre CW so low power, and they emit wavelengths at 632nm, which is ideal for phthalocyanine absorption and not melanin or blood absorption.
