Research has shown that monetary rewards produce better patient outcomes for people on methadone treatment. This is due to the rewarding satisfaction when not engaging in addictive behaviours.

A

CBT aims to fix the faulty thinking that their addictive behaviour has influenced. Patients learn more effective coping strategies to deal with situations, such as the belief of control and predictions of outcomes in gambling. CBT attemtps to correct these errors, which reduces the urge to gamble.

Evidence suggest, despite an alternative main objective, that the law has created a more supportive enviroment for them to quit smoking. Statistics showed that NHS stop smoking services helped 1/4 million people quit smoking.
