mainframe computer
a large, powerful computer that can do a lot of complicated jobs quickly and can be used by a lot of people at the same time
microprocessor

server

a computer with a high-level of performance compared to a general purpose computer

sbc
(single board computer) affordable computers used in education, embedding computer projects and physical computing projects
sim
(subscriber identity module) mobile phones use a sim card to connect to a mobile phone network and used to identify the subscriber to a mobile phone network
specialist phone
has features that provide users with functions that meet particular user needs. for example, an emergency button that is linked to a list of emergency contacts.
also meets users accessibility needs for example blind or partially sighted people - every feature is spoken aloud, features have fewer and larger buttons and connections for hearing aids
smartphone
wi-fi and mobile phone connectivity to make phone calls across the internet . they also include other features such as: cameras, media players, hand-held games. apps can be downloaded which can allow users to customise their smartphones with entertainment, education and business. other features include touchscreen, on-screen keyboard, short battery life - charge more often
wi-fi
a way of connecting computers or other electronic machines to a network or the internet by using radio signals rather than wires

a small dot that helps make up an image

the number of pixels used by a screen to display an image
pixelated
an effect that creates an unclear image consisting of large individual pixels that are visible to the human eye
cameras and camcorder
Digital cameras and camcorders use light sensors to capture images formed by light passing through the device’s lens. Traditionally, cameras are used to capture still images and camcorders are used to capture moving images. However, most digital cameras can now film moving images and most camcorders can photograph still images.
