What is Nominal Data?
Nominal level - you can categorise your data by labelling them in mutually exclusive groups, but there is no order between the categorises.
What are some examples of Nominal Data?
Examples - city Of birth, gender, ethnicity, car brands, marital status
What is ordinal level?
Ordinal level - you can categorise and rank you data in order, but you cannot say anything about the intervals between the ranking. Although you can rank the top 5 medalists
What is Interval data?
Interval level - you can categorise, rank and infer equal intervals between the neighbouring data points but there is no true zero point.
What are some examples of interval data?
E.g. Test scores, personality inventories
What is ratio level data?
Ratio level - you can categorise, rank and infer equal intervals between neighbouring data points and there is a true zero point.
What are some examples of ratio level data?
E.g. height, age, weight, temperature
