What is compliance?
A
- Occurs when individuals change their behaviour or belief to avoid public disapproval or in an attempt to be accepted by a social group.
- Involves public but not private acceptance of a groups activities.

What is identification?
A
- Changing behaviour and attitudes towards a group because the group is considered desirable to join.
- It is not a permanent change of behaviour.

What is internalisation?
A
- When an individual genuinely changes their behaviour or attitude to that of a group or person
- They see the behaviour as correct and change their beliefs publicly and privately and leads to full adaptation of a groups belief system
