What are the different types of clauses?

What are main clauses?
Main clauses (also known as independent clause) are clauses that are not influenced by any other sentences.
What are subordinate clause?
Subordinate clauses (also known as dependent clauses) need to be used with the main clause. A subordinate clause provides the complete meaning of the a sentence.
What are relative clauses?
Relative clauses are a type of subordinate clause, and is used to modify a noun or pronoun. These clauses are always dependent.
What does a simple sentence include?
A simple has one main (independent) clause.
What does a compound sentence include?
A compound sentence includes two main (independent) clauses.
What does a complex sentence include?
A complex sentence includes both a dependent and independent clause, which are joined together with a subordinating conjunction.
What does a compound-complex include?
A compound-complex sentence includes two independent clauses and one or more dependent clause (s).
