What defines a secure attachment?
Strong bond between child and caregiver
When there is separation, the infant becomes distressed
When reunited the child is easily comforted by the caregiver
What are the two types of insecure attachment?
Insecure- avoidant
Insecure- resistant
What is insecure avoidant?
When separated the child isn’t distressed and can be comforted by a stranger
What is insecure resistant?
The child is uneasy around their caregiver but is upset if separated
