Emergency Aid
Short term aid that continues until the emergency is over and people’s lives are no longer in danger
Like providing food, medical aid, clothing.
Can lead to dependancy
Bilateral aid
aid one gov, provides to another gov. to reduce poverty, strengthen recipient countries, promote hw
Risks are that recipient country is corrupt and funds not spent on purpose.
Multilateral aid
Aid provided through an international organisation like UN or WB. It combines donations from several countries and distributes it
It is good because it allows efficient pooling of resources
NGO aid
Relies on funding from gov and public
Is good because it focuses more on community projects and connection, can access areas others don’t or cant, have knowledge of poverty at local level and expertise
