Q

Why is glargline long acting

A
  1. Injection of an acidic solution (pH 4)
  2. Precipitation of glargine in SQ tissue (pH 7.4)
  3. Slow dissolution of free glargine hexamers from precipitated glargine (stabilized aggregates)
    * *hexamers to dimers to monomers
  4. Prolonged action
