Shakespeare highlighting his ‘overthrowing’ of neo-classical rules and ‘customs’ (3 unities)
16 rhyming couplets- very crafted speech; can’t ignore the artistry…Shakespeare winking to the audience
Time turns the hourglass upside down during his speech- social order of the first half is being turned upside down

Prosperina and Ceres: P taken by Dis for 6 months of year; Ceres, goddess of agriculture, grieves..earth becomes barren; Prosperina emerges for the other 6 months (earth becomes warm and fruitful)
