Retinoblastoma Signs
Poor vision in child, Tumour, Leukocoria, Strabismus, eye redness and swelling of the eyelids, Proptosis
Retinoblastoma management
Refer child to specialist to prevent spreading of the tumour. Chemotherapy, laser therapy, enucleation
Choroidal Naevus signs
Oval, slate-blue or grey lesion with slightly blurry outline, surface drusens over a large lesion
Suspicious Naevus
Blurred vision, metamorphopsia, photopsia, dimension >5mm in diameter and >1mm in thickness, traces of surface orange pigment, absence of drusens on thick lesions, margin near optic disc,
Choroidal Naevus management
Normal: no treatment
Sus: baseline fundus photo, further testing and follow up
Choroidal Melanoma signs
Elevated dome-shaped mass, collar stud mushroom-like appearance
Choroidal Melanoma management
Refer urgently for specialist investigation and treatment
Congenital Hypertrophy of the Retinal Pigment Epithelium pathogenesis and signs
Is the results from the proliferation of pigment epithelium cells.
Appear as light grey to black well-define lesions
May appear multiple times giving ‘bear track’ appearance
