What is the pathophysiology behind TB?
A
- A small TB particle is breathed in and enters the peripheral sub-pleural space.
- A macrophage picks them up & presents them to local LNs.
- A granuloma forms in the sub pleural space and will also develop in the mediastinal LN.

What is caseous necrosis?
A
A form of coagulative necrosis in which a thick, yellowish, cheesy substance forms.
Dx’d on a granuloma Bx.
