A
- Tube inserted through nostril
- Passed through pharynx to lie in oesphagus/stomach

A
- Surgical hole made laterally over area of pharynx/cranial oesophagus
- Tube passed through hole, via pharynx into oesophagus

Where is the gastrostomy tube used?
A
- Surgical placement via endoscopy
- Use a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube
- Has a mushroom shaped lip on tube

Where is the jejunostomy tube used?
A
- Tube is placed directly into the small intestine
- Tube passed through a surgical hole, to bypass the upper GI tract
