During the first 10 days

Who should get a hysterosalpingogram?
A
Everyone presenting with infertility with no known risk factors

Who should get a laparoscopic investigation?
A
Those with known risk factors eg
- PID
- Endometriosis
- Known previous pathology eg ectopic pregnancy, ruptured appendix, endometriosis
- Previously abnormal HSG
- History suggestive of pathology eg dysmenorrhoea, dyspareunia

What investigation might be useful if there has been previous pelvic surgery?
A
HyCoSy

When would you perform a hysteroscopy?
A
In cases where there is suspected or known endometrial pathology for example uterine septum, adhesions of polyps.

What does the success of tubal surgery depend on?
A
- Amount of healthy tube
- Whether proximal or distal disease
- Condition of the tubal wall
- Presence of adhesions.

What surgical treatment can be offered where there is blocked ovarian tubes?
A
Selective salpingiography and tubal cannulation
