Embouchure formed too tightly, lips
pinched.
Insufficient volume of air passing between lips.
Thin, pinched tone (Remedies)
Loosen grip on the “tube.”
Review deep breath and fast expulsion of air.
Gargled tone (Causes)
Embouchure not formed tightly enough.
Lips folding over teeth.
Gargled tone (Remedies)
Grip the “tube” more firmly.
Re-form embouchure, “OH-OO SQUEEZE”
Use ring to check lip position.
Stopped or intense air (Causes)
Lips pinched completely together.
Insufficient volume of air passing between lips.
Stopped or intense air (Remedies)
De-emphasize gripping tube.
Re-form “OH-OO.”
Review tongue position (OH) and fast air.
