TSAC1 Written exam Flashcards
What are the 5 elements of informed consent?
a. Diagnosis/Clinical Impression
b. Treatment Intervention
c. Risks or complications
d. Alternative treatments, concurrent treatments, or additional diagnostic procedures
e. Successes and Failures
Where is the transverse process of C1 located when trying to palpate it?
Anterior and inferior to the mastoid process, and in line with the angle of the mandible
What bony landmark level would you most reliably locate to be at the level of the C2 vertebral body?
Angle of the mandible.
How would you confirm you are palpating the C6 spinous process?
Have patient extend neck, C6 spinous would move away whilst the segment below (C7) would not.
At what spinal level is the vertebral prominins?
C7
At what bony landmark level would you locate T3?
Medial border of the spine of the scapula.
At what bony landmark level would you locate T6?
Inferior angle of the scapula with patient prone. Having them seated would be at level of T7.
How does the position of the patient impact the vertebral level you would expect to find at the inferior border of the scapula?
Patient seated = T7 spinous process, Patient prone = T6 Spinous process.
- What are the muscles of the intermediate layer of the intrinsic back muscles?
Iliocostalis, longissimus, spinalis.
Which muscle attaches to the superior angle of the scapula?
Levator Scapula.
Which muscle attaches to the mastoid?
Sternocleidomastoid (SCM)
The spine of the scapula sits between which two muscles?
Supraspinatus and infraspinatus.
Which muscles attach to the medial border of the scapula?
Rhomboids (Rhomboid major and Rhomboid minor)
At what level is the L4 spinous process typically located?
Highest level of the iliac crests.
Where are mamillary processes typically located?
Lateral to the interspinous space above the SP of the vertebral level being palpated.
At what level is S2 tubercle typically located?
PSIS
What range of motion mostly occurs at C1/C2?
Rotation
What range of motion is greatest in the lumbar spine?
Flexion and Extension
What is the angle of the cervical facets?
45 degrees.
What is the orientation of the lumbar facets?
Sagittal plane.
What does GORP OMNI stand for?
