What is truth conditional semantics

A

Truth conditions are the conditions that would have to exist for a sentence to to be truth

•An approach to meaning based on truth.
•Semantisis call a state of a sentence being true or false its truth value
•the facts that has to be obtained from reality for a sentence to be true are the truth conditions
•truth is empirical therefore speakers have to have a knowledge about the world.

Semantic relations like synonymy antonymy, entailment and presupposition is based on truth conditions
