What did Truman Doctrine state?
US containment of communism through providing troops and money (if necessary)
Why did Truman believe communism was bad?
People couldn’t be free - he knew communism appealed to those with nothing so it was easy to get into

What did the Marshall Plan state?
- Rebuild of Europe
- Countries would have to trade with US to get money ($13 billion) - this gave countries a taste of Capitalism
Why did the Marshall Plan upset USSR?
It threatened Communist rule in Eastern Europe

What did Cominform do?
Arrange all European Communist parties leadership to be controlled by Moscow
