An ancient form of song, usually unaccompanied, which uses a limited range of notes

Alleluia
Meaning ‘praise God’ it is the easter proclamation and is used before the reading of the Gospel at Mass
Gloria
A hymn of praise god and goodness, which is sung early in the mass.
Eucharist
Meaning thanksgiving. Used about the mass as a thanksgiving sacrifice to god.
Mystery of Faith
The acclamation after the consecration, when people acknowledge what Christ has done for them.
Triune of God
Within the one God there is a three-ness
Trinity
The belief that there are three persons in one god.

A jewish prayer affirming belief in one God, found in the Torah
Nicene Creed
The nicene creed is a statement of faith that presents what Catholics believe

‘Sending out’ people with a job or function to perform
Evangelism
Preaching the good news about Jesus to other people
Apostolic authority
The authority of the apostles, as leaders of early church, that is passed on to the bishops
