Trig 1 Flashcards
Law if sines
opposite / sin A = opposite / sin B = opposite / sin C
Law of cosines
c2 = a2 + b2 − 2ab cos(C)
Arcsine(x)
What angle provides a sine(angle) = x?
What are the restrictions on domain and range for arcsin? Why?
The domain is the range of sin so -1 to 1. The range is the 1st and 4th quadrant (it was this or the 2nd and 3rd quadrant).
What are the restrictions on domain and range for arctan? Why?
The range is the 1st and 4th quadrant (it was this or the 2nd and 3rd quadrant) excluding 90 and -90 as tan is undefined there.
What are the restrictions on domain and range for arccosine? Why?
The domain is the range of sin so -1 to 1. The range is the 1st and 2nd quadrant (it was this or the 3rd and 4th quadrant).
What is sin(Θ) and cos(Θ) in the unit circle?
Literally x and y.
How to find equivalent angle for sine function
sin(Θ) = sin(pi - Θ)
How to find equivalent angle for cosine function
cos(Θ) = cos(-Θ)
30-60-90 triangle lengths
1, root(3)/2, 1/2
45-45-90 triangle lengths
1, root(2)/2, root(2)/2
