- Sternomastoid: turns the head to the contralateral side

- The spinal accessory nerve crosses the posterior triangle of neck
- It crosses between the point of the junction between upper ⅓ and lower ⅔ of the sternomastoid to the junction between upper ⅔ and the lower ⅓ of the trapezius
