- Patient wrist injury from inappropriate wheelchair propelling (due to contact with wheel or spokes)

What are some of the general guidelines/principles that you as a Therapist Assistant need to help patients to follow during Dressing ADL training? At least 2 examples.
o May dress either on the bed or on the chair
o Use a sturdy chair with firm surface and armrests esp. for patients with poor sitting balance
o Make sure patient’s feet are supported flat on the ground. If the legs are too short, support feet with a stool
o A good level of balance is required during dressing activity
o Garments should be simple and loose fitting
o The weaker side goes in first in upper and lower body dressing
o The weaker side comes out last in undressing
