What is the standard acidity level
medium + to high
What flavour profiles might you expect?

What is the climate like? How and why is it suitable for sparkling wine
it is swarm continental with higher temperatures during the day given the heat gathering in the valleys, but cold at night as the cold air rushes down the mountains (Alps) when the sun goes down. This is important for sparkling wine as it keeps acidity levels high
What kind of soil is predominant in the region
stony with good drainage. Poor in nutrients especially on the slopes. Fruit has good resulting flavour intensity.
What is the average elevation range for vineyards in the region
400-700m
What is the impact of the slopes and the altitude on the wine and wine production (including cost)
The altitude means the grapes ripen slowly - two full weeks later than Franciacorta on average. his builds up flavour and intensity, while retaining acid.
The steep slopes mean that a lot of mechanisation is not possible, increasing the price.
What kind of trellising might you expect?
Guyot and VSP as well as pergola where the slopes are really steep.
What are the main diseases that affect the grapes in the region?
mildew and botrytis
