Q

How do we determine the electronegativity?

A

As you go to the right and higher^^ on the periodic table the electronegativity increases (the ability to hold onto outer atoms)

Q

What changes are noted when the atoms have stronger electronegativity?

A

As the electronegativity changes as does the reactivity.

Q

What happens to the zone of probability when the electronegativity is high?

A

The zone of probability (shells) is more congested as there is a higher pull force towards the centre of the atom.

Q

How do you explain the trends in the periodic table?

A

The more protons the greater the positive charge in the nucleus, the higher the electronegativity.
