What were the economic terms in the treaty of Versailles?
German coalfields to be controlled by France for 15 yrs, German rail stock and large ships to be handed to the allies, Germany to build i further million tonnes of ships for the allies as well as coal, steel and other raw materials. Germany required to pay for all civilian damage done to the Allies. Germany had to accept blame for causing the war.
Who didn’t agree with the treaty of Versailles for Germany and who wanted it?
France and Britain wanted to weaken Germany and make them pay. US president Wilson wanted more lenient treaty that would have strengthened democracy in Germany and create peace keeping conditions. Treaty caused intense bitterness in Germany.

2) some important nations weren’t League members, the USA, Germany wasn’t allowed until 1926 and left in 1933, Russia did not join till 1934, Japan left in 1933 and Italy quit in 1937

More female rights (voting,jobs,dress), aviation, chemicals, electronics, new products, new jobs, more cars (1/2+ had cars by 1929), toasters, vacuums, refrigerators, more leisure activities; baseball, radio, boxing and holidays, people fighting for better treatment of African Americans, increased freedom of speech and celebrity worship.
What were terrible aspects of the 1920’s?
Government corruption, stock market crash, debt, poorer people couldn’t afford new equipment, less farms, hatred of blacks, Catholics, Jews, non-English migrants and socialists, more unemployment and poverty, division in Europe, unrests/independent movements in colonies, 40% Americans in poverty (no farms to work on for rural workers), immigrants limited into countries and made them do hard labour.
Who enjoyed the benefits of the 1920’s the most?
The wealthy; enough money for new equipment, technology and lead sure activities.
Women; more rights, voting, different ways of dressing and more job opportunities.
City people: new businesses and available jobs compared to many farmers that lost their jobs

An extended period of severe economic down turn; negative economic growth accompanied by unemployment exceeding 30%.

People producing more good than they could sell and investors using borrowed money to buy shares that were very expensive and when they tried to sell them their prices collapsed.
