Q

How come the league’s actions had little effect on Italy during the Abyssinian crisis

A

The league condemned Italy, enforced economic sanctions however they didn’t really work as Italy still received coal off Britain as England didn’t want unemployment to rise in the coal industry, they got iron and steel of France whose economy wasn’t doing very well, received oil off America who weren’t in the League of Nations and the league let Italy go through the Suez Canal rather than making them go all the way around the Cape of good hope
