Treatments Flashcards
How do we treat CHF?
O2, morphine/fentanyl, nitroglycerin, aspirin, Lasix, CPAP
(FONA/MONA PRN + CPAP
How do we treat profound bradycardia?
If the patient is stable, meaning, LOC and BP is intact, we treat with atropine, 0.5 to 1 mg, IVP. If the patient is on the stable, we treat with TCP, 70 mV at 70 pulses per minute, making sure we have both electrical and mechanical capture.
If possible, we give pain medication before this. We would give fentanyl, 1 µg per kilogram, IVP
How do we treat opioid overdose?
Administering 02, 15 L per minute to via BVM, and administering Narcan, 0.4mg to 2 mg IV, I N, SQ, ETT, IM
How do we treat right sided STEMI?
A right sided STEMI is pretty low dependent. Blood pressure will be low. We need to raise the blood pressure with fluid.
DO NOT, under any circumstances, give a patient with right sided heart failure or am I nitrates with a blood pressure less than 100 to 120 systolic
What are, in general, the best treatments for a compromised child?
Oxygen and fluid
How do we treat SVT?
If the patient is stable: Vagal maneuvers, adenosine 6 mg, 12 mg, 12 mg IVP
If the patient is unstable: synchronized cardioversion, SC, ranging from 150 to 300 J, depending on which monitor you are using
When do we treat most abnormal, cardiac rhythms that show up on the monitor?
When it is causing hemodynamic instability, usually shown by an altered LOC, and an abnormal blood pressure, especially a low blood pressure, as well as poor oxygen saturation
