How to treat a casualty throwing up

A
  1. Turn the casualty away from you. Balance them on their side. While making sure their head doesn’t hit the floor hard
  2. Ensure the mouth is open and turned towards the floor. Allow them to throw up
  3. When done clear any debris left in the mouth. Move them back, re establish air ways, then start CPR if necessary

A

Use tweezers to grab the splinter as closely as possible to the skin
Once it has been removed gently squeeze to allow it to bleed out, reduce the chance of infection
Cover with a dressing after cleaning and drying
