What was the treaty of portsmouth?
It took place in 1713.The Indians agreed not to fight the British anymore.
What were the Treaties of Peace and Friendship.
Took place in 1725-60. these agreements were chiefly designed to prevent war between enemies and to facilitate trade. They guaranteed hunting, fishing and land-use rights for the descendants of the Indigenous signatories. The Peace and Friendship Treaties remain in effect today.
What was the Niagara Treaty?
Took place in 1764. The Treaty was concluded on 1 August 1764. The treaty transferred possession of a narrow four mile strip of land by the Niagara River’s western shore, as well as established the relationship that was supposed to be honoured by the new settlers moving into what would become Canada
What was the British and Inuit Peace Treaty?
Took place in 1765. The British had suggested the treaty to resolve tensions between the Inuit and the British, support British interests and provide the Inuit with the protection of the British and certain other benefits.
What was the Treaty of Fort Stanwix?
Took place in 1768. This treaty opened lands that would eventually become parts of western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and northeast Tennessee, and the future states of Kentucky and West Virginia which seceded from Virginia during the American Civil War.
What was the Haldimand Proclamation?
Took place in 1784. It was a decree that granted land to the Mohawk who had served on the British side during the American Revolution.
What was the Jay Treaty?
Took place in 1794 between Great Britain and the United States, provides that American Indians may travel freely across the international boundary.
