Trauma Alert Criteria Flashcards
Airway (Choose One)
Pt receives active airway assistance beyond the administration of O2
Airway (Choose Two)
Pt has a respiratory rate of 30 or greater
Circulation (Choose One)
Pt lacks a radial pulse with a sustained HR greater than 120 BPM OR has a systolic BP of less than 90 mmHg
Circulation (Choose Two)
Pt has a sustained HR of 120 BPM or greater
Best Motor Response (BMR) (Choose One)
Pt exhibits a score of 4 or less on the motor assessment component of the GCS; or exhibits the presence of paralysis; or there is the suspicion of spinal cord injury or the loss of sensation
Best Motor Response (BMR) (Choose Two)
Pt has a BMR of 5 on the motor component of the GCS
Cutaneous (Choose One)
Pt has 2nd or 3rd degree burns to 15% or more of TBSA; or amputation proximal to the wrist or ankle; or any penetrating injury to the head, neck, or torso (excluding superficial wounds where the depth of the wound can be determined)
Cutaneous (Choose Two)
Pt has a soft tissue loss from either a major de-gloving injury or a major flap avulsion greater than 5 inches; or has sustained a gunshot wound to the extremities of the body
Long Bone Fx (Choose One)
Pt reveals S/S of 2 or more long bone fx sites (humerus, radius, ulna, femur, tibia, fibula)
Long Bone Fx (Choose Two)
Pt reveals S/S of a single long bone fx resulting from a motor vehicle collision or a fall from an elevation of 10ft or greater
Age (Choose Two)
Pt is 55 y/o or older
Mechanism of Injury (Choose Two)
Pt has been ejected from a motor vehicle (excluding any motorcycle, moped, ATV, bicycle, or the open body of a pick-up truck) or the driver of the motor vehicle has impacted with he steering wheel causing steering wheel deformity
