Evidence based therapy

A

Trauma focused CBT - two types: prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy
Extinction, learning, habituation and desensitisation
PET - progressive exposure to trauma narrative and trigger setting
CPT - writing a trauma narrative and repeatedly reading it to expose oneself to trauma memory, addressing shame, guilt and mistrust

Narrative exposure therapy - short term approach involving life cataloging and detailing of all traumatic events

EMDR - process distressing memories by recalling distressing images while receiving sensory input such as side to side movements

Supportive therapy, yoga, mindfulness training
