What is transport ?
it is where a material is absorbed in one part then given to other parts in the body
Why do all living organism’s need a transport system ?
They need a transport system to supply them with food water and oxygen and to carry away the harmful waist produced in their bodies
What is the main transport system in human beings ?
The blood circulatory system
What are the four components of blood ?
plasma , red blood cells , white blood cells , platelets
What is blood ?
Blood is a liquid called plasma with red cells and white cells and platelets floating in it
What is plasma ?
Plasma is a pale yellow sticky liquid. it has 90% water and 3.5% common salt
What are red blood cells ?
Red blood cells are red in color due to the presence of hemoglobin .
What do red blood cells carry ?
They carry oxygen
What are white blood cells ?
White blood cells fight infections and protect us from diseases
What do some white blood cells do ?
They eat the germs
What do white blood cells make ?
They make antibodies to fight off infections
What are platelets ?
They are tiny fragment which are formed on the bone marrow
What do platelets help with ?
They help with clotting up the wounds
What are the network of tubes called ?
They are called blood vessels
What muscles is the heart made up of ?
Cardiac muscle
