Transport, Organelles, Tonic Flashcards
What is passive transport
Transport in the cell that does not require energy(ATP)
What is active transport
Transport in the cell that requires energy(ATP)
What are the 3 types of Passive transport
Diffusion, Facilitated Diffusion, osmosis
what are the 3 types of active transport
Sodium-Potassium pump, Exocytosis, and Endocytosis.
What are the 3 types of Tonics
Hypertonic, Isotonic, Hypotonic
what do ribosomes do
where RNA is translated into protein
what do mitochondria do
produce energy for the cell
what do golgi apparatus do
receive proteins and lipids
what do vacuole do
store food
what do cell membranes do
controls the movement of substances in and out of cells
what do smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum(Er for short) do
make lipids and proteins
What do flagella do
act as tails and allow the bacteria to move
what do pilus do
allow the bacteria to stick to surfaces
what do lysosome do
remove waste
what do microtubules do
move vesicles and other things through the cell
