transport Flashcards
SGLT-1
Sodium- Glucose Co transport/ symport
Site: Luminal, or Apical membrane of the intestinal epithelial cell [ Enterocyte] Galactose also ( isomer of glucose - OH group ) transport of glucose depends on the transport of Na down its concentration gradient ( which is established by primary active transport via Na/K Atpase pump-- ~ which is located on the basolateral membrane of the intestinal epithelial cell ~
Location: small intestine & kidney
Glucose Transport route from the Small intestine lumen to the blood
Glucose exhibits 2ry active transport into the intestinal epithelial cell
followed by facilitated Diffusion into the blood
2ry active transport- apical membrane
Facilitated diffusion - basolateral membrane = GLUT 2
GLUT 5
Five -Fructose
FF
Facilitated diffusion - basolateral membrane
Fructose
Glucose Transport route from the Small intestine lumen to the blood
GLUT 4
Glucose transporter into skeletal muscle
and adipose cells
heart
Fructose transport
Facilitated Diffusion all the way through - still a type of carrier meditated transport
GLUT 2
Monosaccharides leave the enterocyte through the basolateral membrane by Facilitated Diffusion
glucose transporter in Liver
Beta pancreatic cells
Hyperacusis
Hyperacusis is a highly debilitating and rare hearing disorder characterized by an increased sensitivity to certain frequencies and volume ranges of sound (a collapsed tolerance to usual environmental sound). A person with severe hyperacusis has difficulty tolerating everyday sounds, which become painful or loud.
