Translocations/genes (leukemias and lymphomas) Flashcards
Translocation and gene involved with Follicular cell lymphoma?
t(14;18); BCL2 gene overexpression from chromsome 18
Translocation and gene involved with Mantle-cell lymphoma?
t(11;14); Cyclin D1 from chromsome 11
Translocation and gene involved with diffuse large cell lymphoma
More comon to have abnormalities with overexpression of BCL-6 gene rather than from translocations. If translocations occur, chromsome 3q27-26 is involved
Translocation and gene involved with burkitt’s lymphoma?
t(8;14) most common, t(2;8), and t(8;22); c-myc gene from chromosome 8 is involved
Mutation involved with small lymphocytic lymphoma?
good: 13q14, bad: trisomy 12
Translocation and genes involved with CML?
t(9;22); BCR/ABL gene. ABL from 9, BCR from 22.
Translocation involved with CLL?
Same as Small lymphocytic lymphoma;good: 13q14, bad: trisomy 12
Translocation and genes involved with AML?
Good: t(15;17);PML/RARa from Acute promyelocytic leukemia/t(8;21), inv(16)
Bad: >5 abnormlaities, deletions of chromosome 5 and 7, 3q abnormalities, 11q23 leukemia
Translocation and genes involved with ALL?
Good: hyperdiploid, t(12;21)
Intermediate: t(1;19)
Bad: t(9,22), abn(11q23), hypodiploid, t(4,11) in infants
B-cell receptors for small lymphocytic lymphoma?
Co-expression of CD5 and CD23. CD19+, CD20+, CD22+, CD23+, kappa or lambda
B-cell receptors for follicular small cleaved lymphoma?
CD19, CD20, CD22, CD10, kappa or lambda chain
B-cell receptors for mantle-cell lymphoma?
CD5+ and CD19+. BUT NEGATIVE FOR CD10 and CD23
B-cell receptors for Hodgkins lymphoma?
CD15, CD30. BUT NEGATIVE FOR CD45
