Uniformly Accelerated Motion

Average Velocity

A

It means that acceleration is constant. This meaning that velocity is varying with respect to time.

x*= xo + vot + 1/2at2 * = distance = (x - xo)

v = vo + at

v2 = vo2 + 2a(x - xo)

Average velocity

vavg= 1/2(v + v0)

Projectile Motion Chart

A
  1. Vertical Velocity alone dictates the time of flight.
  2. The Range(horizonal distance) is the horizonal velocity times the time of flight.
  3. Symmetry helps solve problem. If we use only the second half of the trip, vertical vo will always equal zero, making calculations easier.
  4. In the absense of air resistance, mass does not affect projectile motion.
