ribosomes have two attachment sites for tna
one for trna that already has an amino acid, one carries the next aa in the sequence

atp activated amino acid is attached trna molecule
4.base pairing
trna attaches itself to mrna by complementary base pairing
trna for first codon binds to larger subunit, trna for second binds to 2nd attachment site

amino acids on trna molecules join by peptide bond by ribosomal enzyme

process repeats and a polypeptide chain is formed until a stop codon is reached
