Transition objections Flashcards

Q

I can’t commit to the time right now. Life it really busy. Maybe in a few months.

A

Gotcha, so if I hear you correctly, you know you need to do something, but it is just a matter of having time to implement it? Look, can I be honest with you for a second? You just got done telling me that losing weight wasn’t just about (surface level), but it was for (emotional level). And now it seems you are telling me you don’t have the time to do what you just told me was the most important issue in your life to fix. What is more important than that?

But knowing you have difficulty with making this time commitment, could you do 2 hours a week for the first 4 months?

Q

I really can’t make the time right now. I can’t even do the 2 hours a week for the first 4 months.

A

Can I be honest with you for a second? If the very issue you got on this call to solve is exactly what is going to keep you from getting started on fixing the problem, then you are in a self-perpetuating loop, and you are stuck. Make sense? The real question is not when it will be the right time; it will never feel like the right time. The real question is, when are you going to stop making decisions based on current circumstances and start making decisions out of a place of vision? Because if you keep making decisions based on current circumstances, you will only generate what? More of the same. But when you start making decisions on your future vision, you open yourself up to a whole world of possibility. So, who do you want to be? The person who is constantly reactive, making decisions based on their current circumstances and constantly going in circles. Or, the person who understands that ‘if not now, then when’? The person who is able to get uncomfortable in the short-term because it will mean they will get what they want in the long term?

Q

I won’t be able to afford the program. I don’t want to waste your time.

A

No worries. I hear you, but I want to first share with you what the program even entails, and then we can discuss how to make it work financially if it is something you feel aligned with. Sound okay?

Q

I am seeing progress and I want to DIY it before hearing about the program.

A

What are you going to do that is different this time (Point out how this is similar to previous attempts)
But your real problem is (Bridges). What are you doing about that?
If they don’t have a good answer: I notice a pattern where you try something → it works → it stops working, and you continue on this cycle for years instead of doing the REAL fix. Do you see this too?
Do you think that is sustainable? Can you do this for the rest of your life?
Okay so you tried (method) and you said it didn’t work because of (problem current method also has). What’s different?
Unsure but insists to do it: If this doesn’t work for you, what do you plan to do instead of?
To make sure you don’t continue going in circles, let’s nail down what “stuck” means to you so you know when to reach back out to me.
