What is a hydraulic lift?
- Manually operated lift
- Uses a valve on a cylinder to control the increase and release of pressure
- Manual lever is used to increase the pressure in the cylinder when the valve is closed
- Base can be narrowed or widened
- Patient are supported by a sling
- Patient weight and the amount the valve is opened determines the rate of descent
