When should Transfer of Identification take place?
A
Should only be attempted when it is considered that the AC is within the accepting controller’s surveillance coverage

PSR Methods of Transfer of Ident
A
- Direct Designation (Pointing); 2 displays are adjacent or conference type of display is used, Transferring controller is to ensure blips correlate
- Designation of Position; Reference point on both displays. AC seen within 3 miles of position given. Cardinals within 15 miles, range and bearing for others
- Automated Means; Electronic marker or symbol

Radar Handover Conditions
A
- Satisfactory 2 way speech comms
- Identity has been transferred to accepting controller, or has been established by him
- Accepting controller informed of any level or vectoring instructions applicable at the stage of transfer
- If AC route unknown; Observed track or pilot reported heading passed

When is Position Information passed to the Pilot?
A
- Following ident using the turn method
- When requested by the pilot
- When AC flying off correct track
- AC estimate differs significantly to surveillance system observation estimate
- When AC instructed to resume own nav, if necessary
- Whenever considered necessary

What can be used to provide position information?
A
- Well known geographical feature
- Bearing (cardinals) and distance from known position
- Magnetic track and distance to displayed location, RP, navaid or approach aid
- Lat and long
- Distance to TD, if AC on FA
