Slaves had to be prepared for freedom by being educated and becoming Christian. Abolitionists thought that is the trade was illegal slaves would be treated as more valuable and there fore better

They boycotted slavery mad esugar and bought French sugar which was cheaper and made without slaves

In 1831 50,000-60,000 slaves rebelled against their owner’s, torched fields and buildings and caused 1 million pounds of damage

Ther wrote literature to show how cruel slavery was
