Thoreau was definitely more of a transcendentalist because he actually lived out what he wrote about. He believed everything he wrote. He didn’t mind getting thrown in jail, because he stood up for what he thought was right. Emerson mainly wrote about nature but didn’t actually act it out in his everyday life, Thoreau did. Thoreau actually went out and lived within nature while writing one of his novels.
