Speed
The fastest rate at which an individual is able to perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time.
Cardiovascular endurance
The ability of the heart to provide oxygen to muscles during physical activity for a prolonged time.
Muscular endurance
The ability of the muscles to contract over a long period of time without getting tired.
Flexibility/suppleness
The range of motion around a joint
Strength
The ability of the muscles to apply force and overcome resistance.
Dynamic Strength
Strength applied to prolonged, moving muscular contractions.
Static Strength
Applied when muscle length stays the same
Explosive Strength
Applied during a burst of maximum effort
Agility
The ability to change direction with speed
Timing
The ability to produce the correct movement at the optimum time
Coordination
The ability to synchronise the movement of two or more body parts
Reaction Time
The time it takes to react to a stimulus
Power
The ability to combine strength and speed in an action
Balance
The ability to keep the body stable by keeping the centre of gravity over the base
