Emergency situations that require the advantage and increased effectiveness of a single command.
What situations is a task force designed for?
- One side of a major fire
- Ventilation
- Salvage
- Ladderpipe
That may be handled more efficiently by a group of personnel that have uniformly trained in all operations under one command.
Task force
A truck company 5 members, a two piece engine company 5 members 2nd engine is 200 series.

Single engine 4 members
Light task force
Truck company and single engine minimum 6 members.
What is the limited amount of time a captain 1 will be allowed to respond on the truck?
1 month verbal approval from bc
What if longer than 1 month is desired?
Verbal approval from the division commander
Who takes command at an emergency?
The task force commander until relieved by a chief officer/acting chief officer.
When can you deviate from the normal task force sequence?
To provide optimum apparatus placement “brush or narrow streets.
Who needs to approve any variation of the sequence?
All three station task force commanders and all three battalion chiefs.
