Apprenticeships definition
A form of paid on the training where a business combines learning practical skills with theoretical knowledge, where the trading is both on the job and off the job at an external college, and the employee will gain a qualification for this training.
Apprenticeships advantage
A qualification is gained
it is less costly for the business since the employee that is doing the apprenticeship is doing work for the firm.
Apprenticeship disadvantage
Involves a high level of supervision due to unqualified staff being on the business sites
Reputation could be tarnished by the apprentices mistakes.
Graduate training schemes
Graduate training schemes are programs offered by companies to people who have recently gained a degree qualification from university, which normally last between one and two years and allow the graduate to experience different aspects of the business throughout their training.
