Outline the benefits of training.
Increased productivity as staff are better skilled.

Fewer accidents will occur .
Greater job satisfaction and motivation for employees.
Lower staff turnover as staff feel valued as the business has invested in them.
Better candidates applying for posts due to the improved reputation of the organisation.
Employees are trained in a range of skills, therefore establishing a more flexible workforce.
Outline the costs of training.
Financial cost of training can be high as off the job training may need to be paid for.
Once trained, staff may leave for better paid jobs.
Productivity may decrease as staff are trained and are taken away from their jobs for training.
Some employees may not want to be trained so may be demotivated and waste the training.
Describe induction training.
This is training given to new employees to cover aspects such as health and safety procedures, organisational policies and overview of facilities.
Describe on-the-job training.
This is training carried out within the workplace whilst the employee is performing their normal duties.
Describe off-the-job training.
This is training that occurs outside the workplace, (e.g. at college or a training centre.)
