What are the main categories of licence and what conditions are attached to each category ?
Learner
Must be accompanied by supervisor in the front seat who has held their full licence for two or more years they must display L plates and carry their licence
Restricted
Must be accompanied by supervisor in the front seat between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. who has held their full licence for two or more years. If driving with any passengers they must also have a supervisor unless the passengers are spouse or dependants. They must also carry their licence.
Full
No conditions as under learner or restricted licence but must also carry licence
Learner and restricted licences expire after 5 years
Section 31
Driver license offences.
It’s an offence to not comply with learner or restricted conditions
It’s an offence to fail to produce a licence on demand
It’s offence to drive with an expired licence, wrong license, contrary to any conditions.
Section 32
It is an offence to drive while disqualified or contrary to a limited licence or while your licence is suspended or revoked
Section 52
Contravening instructions of An Officer
A person commits an offence if they:
Fail to remain stopped under section 114
Mess with a notice affixed under 115
Drive outside of any 115 conditions in notice
Failure to comply with any lawful requirement, Direction or notice
Knowingly driving a heavy motor vehicle in breach of a direction , whether or not they are the person who was given the direction

Section 37
Operates

OR without reasonable consideration for other road users
Section 38 and section 39
Section 38 careless driving or inconsiderate use causing injury
Section 39 aggravated careless use
These offences can be committed anywhere and there is power to arrest for these
Section 35
Operates
A motor vehicle
On a road
Recklessly OR in a manner or at a speed which may be dangerous to the public or any person
There is power to arrest for these offences
Section 36
Reckless or dangerous driving causing injury or death
This offence can be committed anywhere and there is power to arrest
Section 36 a
Boy racer offences
1A races or exhibition of speed or acceleration
1B pours any substance onto the road that causes loss of traction
1C operates a vehicle in a manner that causes loss of traction
1a and 1C are arrestable.
